Kurzbeschreibung
The research focus of the Chair of Test and Simulation for Gas Turbines lies in the investigation and modeling of the secondary air system of gas turbines and aero engines. This includes the analysis of internal airflows for cooling, sealing, and ensuring the structural integrity of components in order to enhance efficiency, durability, and overall engine performance. These investigations are integrated into the Virtual Engine approach, in which gas turbine architectures are virtually represented using models of varying levels of fidelity, enabling predictive, cross-component analyses. In addition, the chair’s research addresses the operability of gas turbines, including the study of stability, transient behavior, and safe operating limits under flexible and demanding operating conditions.
